Inspiration overdose

"But what am I to do? I must have some drug, and reading isn't a strong enough drug now." -C.S. Lewis
Feeling the itchings of an entry building up, but haven't the concentration to realize it entirely. but briefly--yesterday held much inspiration for me and I hope keep it fresh. the source: william zinsser, tom bird, the holy bible and a set of three scarlet moleskins, plus iridescent fuchsia nail color. if only one could freeze inspiration, store it away, and make use of it on reserve like that. because right now I'm nearly shaking on overdose.

I love books. literature has been hoarding my attention since I've been here in buffalo. there are books to read, books to sell, books to donate and certainly books to buy. one day I'll write one. that is a slow but sure work in progress. promise.

Letter to his sister

"I have been thinking lately that life in the will of God is better in each phase that we enter, so I can say honestly today, 'This is the best year of my life.'
I am praying this for you both: that there will not be a sense of climax and then a fading such as I have observed in some young married people. But, rather, that the full experience of life, as it was meant to be lived from the beginning for adults, might be an increasing thing. God deliver us from lolling back and saying, 'I've had it.' We haven't had everything--only all we could take for the time being."

Waiting around

waiting... for a baby to grow
waiting... for a tan
waiting... for the chance to go to Korea
waiting... for the hummingbird to come again
waiting... for the right person
waiting... for a visit
waiting... for healing
waiting... for reconciliation
waiting... for clarity
waiting... for morning
waiting... for an unanswered prayer
waiting... for the summer to end
waiting... for the Thief in the night

waiting.

Jim Elliot

taken from Shadow of the Almighty:
"The way for me has certainly not been conventional or predictable in any way. But I have sought the will of God, and in this I rest. It is no use arguing what might have been if so and so had happened. We are only asked to do what we are told--small, strange, or simple as that may be--our orders are to obey, and in this my conscience is clear. I have walked in integrity, not purposing according to the flesh, that my path should be yea, yea, and nay, nay. But having purposed in Christ to do what is pleasing to Him, I find His approval (yea) and seal (amen) in the very smallest and unlikely things. Who shall doubt, or say our labor is in vain? 'Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph.'"
*
"to gaze and glory and to give oneself again to God, what more could a man ask? Oh, the fullness, pleasure, sheer excitement of knowing God on earth. I care not if I ever raise my voice again for Him, if only I may love Him, please Him. Mayhap in mercy He shall give me a host of children that I may lead through the vast star fields, to explore His delicacies, whose finger-ends set them to burning. But if not, if only I may see Him, touch His garments, and smile into my Lover's eyes-ah, then, not stars, nor children shall matter-only Himself."

The Living Word

The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they will find rest as they lie in death. Isaiah 57:1-2

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Divine romance by Phil Wickham

The fullness of Your grace is here with me
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see
The brightness of Your glory has arrived
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied
For You I sing I dance
Rejoice in this divine romance
Lift my heart and my hands
To show my love
A deep deep flood, an Ocean flows from You
Of deep deep love, yeah it’s filling up the room
Your innocent blood, has washed my guilty life
In Your presence God I’m completely satisfied
